TEDWomen is coming…

So, after geeking out about the UK Feminsta Summer School (coming up at the end of this month) and the Feminism in London Conference (in October, now open for registration) I present to you with the mother of all learn-fests! The highly revered and much loved TED have announced their first ever TEDWomen conference event – to take place over December 7th and 8th later this year in Washington DC.

TEDWomen promises to reveal how women are shaping the future as ‘powerful change agents in the area of economic growth, public health, political stability and beyond’. Over the two days, speakers will cover a variety of topics including; the preservation of language, interaction with technology, women and leadership, bringing peace to areas of conflict and much more. You can take a look at the whole exciting program here.

Okay, so both December and Washington DC seem a world away from me right now – plus, the $2,200 registration is *ahem* a little bit over my budget. Still, a girl can dream can’t she? And, all this aside, it’s great to hear that the wonderful TED are devoting an event to women-centric discussion… plus, we should all be able to catch up on all the best talks after the event on TED’s own site. No need to start saving for a plane ticket then, really!
